Welcome to the website of 'Borrelgenootschap GLOBAAL'

First of all we would like to introduce us, Borrelgenootschap GLOBAAL, to you.
In 1993 GLOBAAL was formed by a group of women. GLOBAAL is a society of women who like to come together to enjoy and to make plans for the integration of the international students. GLOBAAL belongs to student society 'Osiris'.

Osiris is the student club for all Van Hall students. When we say all, we mean all... So you are welcome also. They organize lots of parties, sports events and lots of other social events. Osiris owns a building in the centre of town, called 'Abydos', where almost all activities take place. It also accommodates a bar where you can meet your friends for a cheap night out (beer only costs 0,90 euro). The entrance hours are from 21:00h until 1:00h. The party will last till the last person leaves. You can find 'Abydos' at Herenwaltje 1-1a.

In the 'strip' at the Van Hall Instituut you can find the Grand Cafe Van Hall which is opened every day after 15:00h. Osiris also manages this. After a day of classes, it is very nice to relax here and have a drink with other people.

As you probably understand, GLOBAAL means 'global', and that's why one of our aims is to help out the international students with practical matters like, how things work at school and in the city of Leeuwarden (especially the nightlife), and to make them acquainted with some typical Dutch traditions and ways of living.
